Eyebrows frame the whole face and having the right shape and colour tones to achieve warmth, depth and expression is important. Eyebrow treatments are the most popular semi-permanent make-up procedures. The finished brow we can achieve is moulded to suit the client’s natural attributes and features; we can create a deliberate, defined eyebrow style or, using the natural brow and flow as a template, a less defined, softer look.

Clients who can benefit from this procedure include those who suffer from conditions such as alopecia, cancer and the results of chemotherapy, trichotillomania, lupus or those who have simply lost their hair from over plucking, hormone related diseases, stress or accidents.

Crystal Cosmetic & Medical always aims to create as natural looking a result as possible. The result we aim for with our procedures is a subtle, daily ‘no make-up’ look, enhancing our clients’ natural beauty.

We offer a variety of treatments using different techniques to suit a client’s requirements. An eyeliner can benefit clients who suffer from a variety of conditions that can cause lashes to fall out, as well as clients who are simply looking to enhance the colour or depth of their own lashes. An eyeliner treatment is also a great way to save the time that you would have spent applying eyeliner every day.

Our treatment range spans from a very thin, subtle application to thicker, more dramatic looks. Eyeliner treatments can be black or include a sprinkle of colour, depending on the desired result. Our style is subtle and the objective is for you to achieve a daily look that allows you to wake up ready to go.

Lips are arguably the most sensual feature of a woman's face – one look at Angelina Jolie’s pout will convince anyone of this. Sometimes we can lose the definition, colour, balance or shape of the lips due to age or other factors. Depending on your preferences, our treatments can offer fullness, definition and restore lost colour to your lips. As always, all our treatments aim for a natural look and we will match the colour palette to your complexion in order to achieve a balanced and refreshing result.

All of our treatments require a consultation before booking the actual procedure. This is the stage where you ensure your requirements are compatible with Crystal’s approach, and where we work with you to design the perfect treatment. Your technician will sketch in detail the proposed treatment outcome with cosmetic pencils – this sketch can be amended in consultation with you as many times as needed until you are completely satisfied with the projected result.

In consultation we will answer any questions you may have and help you understand what semi-permanent make-up is from a technical and medical perspective. Your technician will also administer a sensitivity patch test to ensure you are not allergic to the pigments used for micropigmentation. The consultation is the first step in understanding what is possible from expert technicians, and deciding how to move forward.

When we refer to ‘medical treatments’ in our industry we mainly speak of cases caused by an accident, surgery, immune system deficiency or other health issues that have had a detrimental impact on the skin. Whether you are coping with alopecia, cancer, surgical scarring, vitiligo, cleft lip, hair loss or another condition that has had an impact on your appearance, medical treatments can help provide a solution.

Medical Tattooing

Medical Tattooing is an advanced form of permanent cosmetics. It is sometimes referred to as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing. The implantation technique deposits tiny individual implants of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. It can restore the appearance of brows and lashes lost through alopecia, chemotherapy or other medical conditions.

If you have had a breast reconstruction after a mastectomy, you may have been left without areola or, in some cases, without full nipples. Alternatively, it may be that you have naturally pale or faded areola, or you may have been left with uneven, asymmetrical, misplaced or discoloured areola following surgery. Medical Tattooing can replicate the appearance of real areola and create the illusion of nipple protrusion for clients who have had mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery.

This type of treatment can also be used for lip shape correction in the case of cleft lip while light coloured scars can be camouflaged long-term using medical tattooing. We do this by infusing individually selected skin coloured pigments into the scar to minimise its appearance. It is important that medical tattooing is carried out when the skin is not tanned as the success of the treatment is dependent on the correct skin-tone pigments being blended to achieve a look that ‘merges’ into the natural skin colour.

Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation

MCA (Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation) treatment is ideal for people who have suffered from burns, scarring and skin imperfections where the skin tissue needs to be softened and the texture smoothed. MCA is a treatment that works by stimulating the skin cells to regenerate and produce collagen, elastin and melanin.

The procedure aggravates the cells so the body is stimulated to repair itself. This helps to re-pigment scars and relax tough scar tissue that has been caused by injury, burns or surgery. Scar relaxation is accomplished using a technique called micro needling which creates microscopic punctures in the scar tissue. This stimulates collagen production and helps blood capillaries reach the surface.

The result is improved skin tone (colour), smoothed texture and a reduction of the three-dimensional appearance of the scar. Although micro needling and scar camouflage can reduce the appearance of your scar, it’s important to understand that scars are long-lasting and no scar will ever be completely invisible. Every scar is different: body location, size, shape, colour, appearance of depth and other factors can all have an effect on treatability. Some scars require only a single treatment, others take multiple treatments. Results are cumulative and may take four to six weeks to fully develop.

Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp micropigmentation is one of the most effective solutions for hair loss and thinning hair. It is a non-invasive, detailed process that creates a natural looking simulation of hair where micro-needles are used to deposit the pigment into the scalp.

The end result creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles and the illusion of denser looking hair at root level or even a closely shaven head, that takes the focus away from the scalp or bare patches. It is able to restore receded hairlines, camouflage transplant scarring or full head coverage can also be accomplished; previously unachievable with other hair loss solutions.

Scalp micropigmentation provides a solution for male and female clients suffering from general hair loss, various forms of alopecia or scalp scars. Patients need to be aware that the treatment is a process of 2-3 sessions that take place 10-15 days apart and the outcome should be expected to last for years. One notable benefit of scalp micropigmentation treatment is that it requires little to no continued maintenance and carries no strict lifestyle or daily restrictions.
